Aubrey and Colby Engagement | Arlington TX Family Photographer
The ring and the ‘YES’ were no-brainers for these two high school sweethearts and I was thrilled to spend some time with them making a few special memories of their commitment to each other.
River Legacy Park was our outdoor studio for Aubrey and Colby’s engagement session. I’ve written numerous times about the great locations within this park so it was an easy decision for the three of us to make.
We decided to include a Texas Rangers theme since sports have played a significant role in their relationship. Not only has Colby coached junior high (and is about to start a new job as a high school baseball coach), but he actually proposed to Aubrey during a Texas Rangers game…not at the ballpark but at home on TV! It’ a charming chapter in their storybook (and very down to earth) romance.
I often encourage clients to bring props, but Aubrey took it to a new level. Ranger t-shirts, a baseball, a glove that Colby’s dad used to play catch with him as a boy…I think there was even more in her suitcase that we didn’t get to use!
Props make things special and unique and don’t have to be cheesy or intimidating.
A prop can be clothing or accessories: a baseball hat, class ring, football helmet, letterman jacket, sunglasses, scout uniform or sports jersey. Anything that has special meaning for you and your family.
Props can even be a sports car, your pet, fishing pole, guitar, helicopter or soccer ball. All of these props personalize your portraits and help them stand out.
So check out how Aubrey and Colby used their props to make a special engagement session all their own…
