Personally, combining sports and photography is one of the most rewarding aspects of being a freelance photographer.

Covering the Texas Rangers has been one of the highlights of my full-time photography career and I’ve enjoyed my experiences shooting games and interacting with everyone associated with the Rangers organization.

Last week I had the opportunity to work with the ArlingtonVoice.com to cover the Michael Young retirement press conference at the Rangers Ballpark in Arlington  

Young announced his retirement from Major League Baseball with the Texas Rangers.  He had passed up several excellent offers in order to spend more time with his family.  

I admire Michael Young’s career but even more his committment to family.  The images of him with two of his boys are my favorites and I think everyone in the room could appreciate his priorities and decision.
