Arlington TX Sam Houston High School Boys Soccer

I’ve mentioned before the ironic path my sports photography has taken.

The first sport I ever shot was major league baseball.  I’ve been covering Texas Rangers games for the ArlingtonVoice since the 2013 season.

It wasn’t until after MLB that I shot college basketball, then WNBA followed by high school football.  Kinda backwards.

Photographing the Arlington TX Sam Houston Boys Soccer team this season was a first.

In full disclosure I must say that I graduated from this school back in the day.  And I spent another thirteen years of my life there as a teacher and counselor (check out a bit of my story). So I’m slightly proud, very biased and prone to brag on these guys and their coach.

To say they are one of the best is no exaggeration.  Watching this group of amazing young athletes blast through teams on their way to a state championship opportunity was exhilarating.

Here’s just a few shots from the two playoff games leading to their battle for state champions.  (More of my event and sports photography)
