Metallica Worldwired Tour 2017 Dallas Concert – Arlington TX – Dallas
Metallica Worldwired Tour 2017 Dallas Concert
What can I say. I love shooting big shows. The bigger the better.
Shooting a Metallica show was always one of those far off opportunities. I’d imagined it since first jumping into concert photography a few years ago. Since I make my bucket list as I go, this show got added and crossed off in the same night.
I have a history with this band. I’ve been a fan of their music since high school. I even saw them at the Dallas Bronco Bowl in 1985 and witnessed firsthand the bass legend that was Cliff Burton. The fact that they’re still here and filling up stadiums is impressive and remarkable. It really has been fun to watch their presense grow to this point over the years.
The 2017 Metallica was even classier and generous than I imagined. With so much discontent in the music photography world about rights grabbing photo releases, it was refreshing to enter a show of this size without a lot of restrictions.
Okay I know the photographers reading this are wondering, so I’ll answer: First three songs from the pit. And I couldn’t ask for much more without feeling greedy.
Metallica invited us in with no odd shooting restrictions and no release. Come in, take some great pictures and put them out there. Makes sense and I wish more bands would follow their example.
So that’s what I did. Here’s a few of my favorites from the Metallica Worldwired Tour 2017 Dallas concert at AT&T Stadium in Arlington TX.
