Skillet Concert @ Tyler TX Oil Palace – Dallas Concert Photographer
One thing I enjoy about Christian music tours and festivals is the mixture of genres that often occurs.
When Skillet and Third Day can tour with Mandisa and Brandon Heath there’s gonna be something for everyone. The result is new fans all over the spectrum. Add in Peter Furler and We As Human and you have yourself a jackpot in my opinion.
But one thing I’ve said before (and I’ll repeat it) is that there is no mistaking you are at a rock concert when you slip into a Skillet show. They bring the boom. Last year I wound up shooting over sixty shows and I must say that Skillet was among my top favorites in terms of pure energy.
Earlier this year I missed Skillet when they rolled through Dallas with the Roadshow Tour, but a last minute media credential put me on the road last week to the Oil Palace in Tyler Texas.
After a brief technical glitch (I think Third Day used up the all the power) Skillet hit the stage with their signature intensity, belting out fan favorites with frequent crowd interaction and encouragement from frontman John Cooper.
Check out the video for American Noise and better yet, see them LIVE.
